About the Event
This course is ideal for everyone including cyclist, open water swimmers, Stand up paddle boarders and anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of First Aid.
First Aid Course & Rescue Skills
This course will not only give all participants a First Aid qualification, but we will also be covering CPR / Defibrillation and water rescue skills.
The Emergency First Response first aid course covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. During the course we will focus on assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice. This will include additional skills designed for the SUP boarder in mind, such as throwlines, in water stretchers and other safety equipment recommendations.
Some of the First Aid skills taught in this course will include:
Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures
During the course Jason & John will also cover CPR & AED training.
The includes the basic principles of CPR and how to deploy and use an Automated External Defibrillation (AED) in an emergency situation. This life saving device can increase a patient’s chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent and a skill everyone should learn.
On completion of the course each successful participant will be issued with a First Aid certificate.
